Anyone with insight and/or prior experience with this scenario, your input would be greatly appreciated: I had applied for myself and my son's OCI visas and a couple of reasons they rejected and sent it back and for which I need some clarifications are:
1. They wanted a copy of my wife's Indian passport and her status in the US. Why is this necessary? My wife does not have an Indian passport and is not applying for OCI and so why is this even an issue? Since I'm eligible for OCI, my son is also and so why they need to know my wife's status is rather silly. I will anyway submit copies of her US passport with the re-submission.
2. They said that both parents need to sign on my son's OCI application. Where and why does my wife need to actually sign?
* She is not applying for OCI herself and the minor consent section at the end of Part B just asks for the primary applicant (me) to sign on behalf of the minor (my son). Is my wife supposed to sign there as well?
* Or is she supposed to sign the main signature area (at end of Part B and above the minor consent section) where I signed my name? This doesn't make sense since she is not applying for OCI.
