Questions regarding DS230-Part I

Hello everyone:

I had a few questions (which might seem rather silly) - but I just want to be ABSOLUTELY sure that I am tackling all of this properly. The last thing I want is an RFE from the NVC - which will surely delay my case significantly.

Thanks in advance to all those people who have provided such excellent advice and support through this forum.

I am processing CP through Islamabad and just received my DS230 Part 1 plus instruction packet.

Questions are as follows:

1. Instruction packet provides a list of documents of which I should collect originals or certified copies (birth, marriage, police certificates etc.). Instructions mention that I will need to provide these originals at time of interview and that I should not send (originals) to NVC. BUT, my question is should I send COPIES of these documents to NVC with my DS230-I?? Or should I just return the completed DS230-I (with barcode cover sheet) to NVC without any attached copies of supporting documents?

2. Instructions state that NVC case # should be handwritten in top right corner of all documents. If I am returning only the DS230-I form(s) with barcode cover sheet - should I handwrite the NVC case # on upper right corner of DS230-I forms?

3. One of the last questions in DS230-I pertains to listing ALL visits/periods of residence in the U.S. However, the form only allows for three (3) listings. My total visits exceed this number significantly. Should I list only the three most recent - or can I attach a continuation sheet with the DS230 Part I form??

4. Instructions state that I should return in envelope provided? Has anyone used overnight mail to return DS230-I to NVC? Can we use the same envelope that NVC provides for overnight or can we use the standard overnight U.S. mail express envelope?

I will be extremely grateful for any advice/assistance.

{ If the NVC needs to see some documents they would SPECIFI-
CALLY ask for them. If not you need not send even the copies.
Just send the DS 230 Part with the bar coded sheet on top.}

2. Instructions state that NVC case # should be handwritten in top right corner of all documents. If I am returning only the DS230-I form(s) with barcode cover sheet - should I handwrite the NVC case # on upper right corner of DS230-I forms?

{ Write your case number in bold letters on the top right hand
corner of the DS 230 Part I }

3. One of the last questions in DS230-I pertains to listing ALL visits/periods of residence in the U.S. However, the form only allows for three (3) listings. My total visits exceed this number significantly. Should I list only the three most recent - or can I attach a continuation sheet with the DS230 Part I form??

{ Attach a seperate sheet and list the item # and description
at the top of such sheet , and list the overflow information.
Again remember to put your case # on top of that sheet too. }

4. Instructions state that I should return in envelope provided? Has anyone used overnight mail to return DS230-I to NVC? Can we use the same envelope that NVC provides for overnight or can we use the standard overnight U.S. mail express envelope?

{ Use the envelope sent by NVC but the choice of mail would
be yours. }

I will be extremely grateful for any advice/assistance.
