Questions on stamping

Guys I have a few questions... I'd appreciate if someone can answer them.

1. My passport expires Jan 2005. Will that be a problem when I go for stamping
2. Can I go for stamping on Friday. Was anyone successful in getting stamped on a Friday?

Normally, your passport should be valid for atleast next 6 months. I was in the same boat. Mine was expiring in dec. Got a new passport yesterday. Will got to stamping next week. hope this helps.

Normally, it takes about two weeks. Applied here in Chicago. You have to submit you existing passport, two photos, copy of ur EAD and copy of ur marriage certificate(if you want to add ur wife's name in ur passport). and OFCOURSE the money!! $ 40. Go to the website for a detailed information.
 
I am in the same boat. My passport is expiring in octoboer and I am waiting for stamping. I went to DC embassay today and submitted in person. They need 4 photos, copy of EAD,2 Proof of residense(Utility bill, drivers license.. etc) and copy of degree ceritificate. I will be picking up passport tomorrow. If you mail it it will take 7 to 10 days to get it back. Hope this helps
