Questions on N400 application process

Hi all,

I had a few questions on the N400 process and will appreciate any help.

(1)I'm in the Los Angeles area and will be eligible to file in the 2nd week of Feb (90 days before completion of 3 yrs as permanent resident). I got the GC through the family category. I'm thinking of moving to TX later this year. How will this impact the application?
(2)If we move after the interview, does this still result in a case transfer and delay the process?
(3)What is the typical timeframe for the process in the Los Angeles area? Does anybody have recent N400 experiences to share? Does anybody have change of address experiences to share?

Thanks.

I know recommendations from other posters on this forum is to maintain one residence throughout the N400 process...

An address change (filing an AR-11) may delay your case...

To see how quickly N-400s are being processed in California or Texas, go here:

https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

Click on Go after selecting your DISTRICT OFFICE (don't go to thr Service Center search).

The date for N400 is the filing dates they are currently processing, i.e., if the date says July 28, 2004, they may currently be processing interviews people who applied in July 2004.

This may not be exact, but gives you a good "guess"timate.

Thanks and follow-up question

Thanks Ratrat. Los Angeles processing date is July 28, 2004. Does this mean that folks who applied in Jul 2004 have been interviewed and post-interview processing is going on OR does this date mean that interview letters are being sent out for folks who applied in Jul 2004.

Thanks.

The CIS's posted time so far has proven to be not accurate. For instance, Baltimore, one of the fastest processing centers, is shown to be processing March 04 cases, while the fact is that most people who filed around July there have already taken their oaths (see the Baltimore board). I'd suggest you start a discussion, if there is not already one, on "Experiences in the LA DO", so you can gather info and do a regression. That'll help others in your area, too.
