I and My husband both are on L1A working for the same company in USA. Now as my project is over I will be asked to go back to my native country within next 2 weeks..But I am considering the conversion of my L1 to L2 visa so that I can continue my stay in the US with my husband . I am also planning to apply for EAD after my getting my L2. But my husband's L1 is expiring in June 2009 and he would be applying for a L1 extension and Green Card some time in March 2009.
Based on the above is it safe for me to apply for L2 now (my hubby’s current visa is valid only for 6 more months )Can some one please clarify the below questions
1. If I apply for L2 now and apply for EAD how long will my EAD valid for (will it be beyond the June 2009 period )
2. If I continue here with L1 will I automatically get EAD when my husband’s GC is processed.., If so how long will that take.
3. As the current L1 validity for my husband is only few more months , is there any chance for my L2 application to be rejected. (I am planning to go to India for stamping my L2)..
4. In case my company gives me a long leave , can I convert into L2 and get EAD without resigning my job..
