My wife has her first 3 years of visa stamp on her passport finishing on Oct 2006. She changed her job three months ago after she got the new H-1B approval notice from her new employer. I have a few questions for which I will appreciate some clarifications.
- Does she need to get a new visa stamp on her passport or just the approval is sufficient even after Oct 2006.?
- Does she need to go to home country (India) to get the stamping or she can go to any other USA embassy in any other country?
- Can she get the stamping done by mail ?
- If she has to travel, then who typically pays for the travel ? Does she need to pay or her employer would pay?
- Her previous company had provider her with approved labor using which her I-140 application was filed, however she left the job right after that, even before it was approved. Does this matter in any way?
I will appreciate some clarifications from the members.
