Questions on filling out canadian visa application

Hi,

I am on my 5 th year of H1. I got my H1-B renewed for the second 3 years abt 1.5 years back. I never went back to India after that and so I did not get the visa revalidated. Now, I want to go to Canada and get the visa. For that, I need to apply for the canadian visitor visa and so while filling the form, I have a few questions

1. Question 4 asks how long I plan to stay in Canada and the dates

At this point, I have not even looked at appointment dates and so how I be able to answer this question

2. Question 11 asks for Name, address and relationship of person(s) or institution I will visit

I don't have any friends in canada and so my sole purpose is to get the visa. So, what should I put here

I see in this forum that a lot of people have gotten their visa renewal from Canada and so can some1 who applied and got the canadian visitor visa please reply.

I guess first thing u need to do is Book an appointment for visa interview if it is the only reason you are visiting Canada. Canadian consulate asks for visa appointment letter as proof. Then u can answer "how long u plan to stay in canada" and u can give address of US Consulate as "visiting institution" in the visa application form.

In my case, I had a US degree and I had no problem in getting stamped 2 times in Canada. Also, I know few people personally who have done it in Canada without a US degree. I dont think there should be any problem as long as you have all required documents. Look for other posts in this forum.
