Questions on EB1-EA for I-485 !!

Hi :

My I-140 is approved under EB1-EA category (self petitioned). My I-485 is pending for more than 450 days at NSC. Right now, I have my H-1B till May, 2003 (same as I-94) and also have my EAD till Feb, 2003. My questions are : In this situation, for any reason, if I get laid off,

1) Will there be any adverse effect on my I-485 approval ?

2) Since EB1-EA category does not require a job offer, do I still need to have a job for my I-485 approval ? and

3) In case I loose my job, will I be considered out of status, then ?

Answers

1. No adverse effect, provided you find another job in your
"field of endeavor" in which your EA was granted.
2. But you must remain actively contributing in your field of endeavor, else your AOS may be denied.
3. No, your legal status is fully preserved by pending I-485,
until your adjustment is adjudicated.
