*Wrong AD in Newspaper
Our lawyer placed a sunday ad in The Journal News, which we had decided not to use due to cost. Realizing the mistake, she said we will disqualify candidates coming from that newspaper. My questions:
1. How do we knof if a candidate comes from The Journal News, as opposed to The New York Times (where we also placed ads)?
2. Is it legal for us to disqualify candidates because of a misplaced ad?
Thanks!
Wrong AD at DOL!Need help!
Guys,
My classification is MS+0. My job is located somewhere in New York State (Westchester county). Here's what happened with our job order.
A. We first sent a job order form to DOL that incorrectly said MS+2. This form was incorrectly sent to the New York City processing email address.
B. We then sent a corrected job order form to DOL that said MS+0. This form was also incorrectly sent to the New York City processing email address.
C. Realizing the mistake, we eventually e-mailed a job order form to the New York state e-mail address, with MS+0. (Per http://www.labor.state.ny.us/busine...gAJobOrder.shtm there is a separate form and a separate e-mail address for NYC and NYS)
D. The NYCity backlog is one month, so forms A and B are probably still in queue. NYState has virtually no backlog, so form C was processed the rather quickly. With errors: they wrote BS+0, they didn't write the company name, they didn't write the lower bound of the salary range.
My questions:
1. How do we cancel ads A and B?
2. How do we correct the error they made at step D?
3. What happens if candidates with BS+0 show up as a result of this mistake on DOL's part? Will this push our case into "APPEAL" -- that state where the whole case can be slowed down a year?
