Questions about when to file for Green Card based on daughter Citizenship

Background:
My daughter married a US citizen about 3 years back and has a Green Card based on his citizenship. She will be eligible for her citizenship in July 2006.
I (her father) am working in USA on H1B and my wife is a housewife in USA.

Q1) How long does it take for someone to get their citizenship if applied based on GC( all on the basis on her husband - this is for my daughter)

Q2) How long do we have to wait before she (daughter) can apply for our (parents) GC.

Q3)What is the processing time for this kind of GC application (for parents)? The reason I want to ask this is because we want to find out how much time is there during which we cannot travel after filing for the green card.

thanks in advance.

Typically 3 to 6 months but depends on how long her FBI name check takes to complete. Just so you know, everyone who applies for GC or naturalization has to go thorugh the FBI name check.

She can apply for your GC as soon as she becomes a citizen.

You can still travel after you file for GC. As i understand you are currently on H1 and if you maintain your H1 status after you submit your papers, you can still travel on H1, if not, then you can apply for I-131 for travel while your GC is pending.

thanks in advance.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I guess the FBI checks should be a little faster for my daughter because she is a New Zealand citizen and NZ passport holder.

So the day she gets her Citizenship, we can apply instantly or is it advisable to have a lag between when she gets her citizenship and when she applies for us?

not true. FBI needs to get its information from a lot of agencies including the consulate of her country to complete the name check process and this often takes time. It takes more time for citizens of certain countries on the FBI watch list. If you are not a citizen of one of those countries doesnt mean your FBI name check would complete faster.

She can file for your GC the day she gets her naturalization certificate.
