Questions about travel with AP

Gurus,

I have to to travel abroad before I-485 approval next month. Will reenter at LAX. I have some simple questions:

1. Would photocopies of I-485 receipt and I140 receipt/approval be acceptable for the officer or I have to take original ones with me. Should I bring other documents/copies such as H1-B with me?

2. Should I bring both copies of AP with me? (I only got two of them from CSC).

3. is traveling abroad with AP going to give any negative effect to my pending I-485. will it increase the chance of interview?

What is your current status ? Are you maintaining your H/L status or are you working on EAD ??

Photocopies is sufficient.

Bring both copies of AP with you - also keep a few photocopies of the same (in case airlines wants a copy - sometimes they ask for it)

Re-entering using AP has absolutely NO ill-effect on your 485 -- to use it for travel abroad and re-entry is the sole purpose of AP :)

Again, if you are on H1, you can still enter using AP and remain in H status -- in that case, its better to carry H1 documents - but if you are working on EAD, all you need is the AP and passport -- no need to carry any H related paperwork.

Can u pls help me in answering below query:

Curently workin on L1 with employer 'A'
GC process initiated with employer 'B', I140 is approved, awaiting EAD/AP

I need to go to India. Once I receive my AP, can I use this to enter back to US, reason I am asking since I am not working for 'B' by then.

If it's possible, what is the best way to do : While leaving US should I show AP at departing airport and record it, so as to travel back using same AP ???

Appreciate your help.
