Questions about NIW and OR

Dear friends,

I filed my NIW I140 application with I485 application on July 2004, now I plan to file OR application, should I file another I485 application with OR-140? I heard one person only can have one I485 pending, is that true? How do you handle this?

My lawyer suggested to file in a similar case the second one for CP as a kind of backup. By filing two I-485 you are at risk that you might invalidd one of them

My lawyer want to use the same ref letters for NIW for my OR case, I think I might be able to do it by myself. Do you think if it is OK if I file OR application by myself instead of thru her?
