Questions about INS INTERVIEW

My wife and I are scheduled to have our interview for her adjustment status soon. She and I are worried because we have no idea what to expect. So, we need help on these questions that are on our minds:

1. How long is the interview?
2. What kind of questions they might ask?
3. My wife and I do not have a bank joint account yet because my wife does not have a SSN. Most banks here in Hawaii, require SSN. So can we by pass this requirement?
4. What are the possibilities of my wife being denied for adjustment of status? What could go wrong?

Thanks.

Just relax Claren. As long as both of you truthfully marriage and answer all the questions honestly, you'll be fine.

There are no exact time how long because some of them could take 30 minutes, 15 minutes. Or even 3 minutes like I did. It depends on how suspicious they are to the couple. With my interview, they didn't even ask anything and approved it. But some people in this forum have been asked for their documents. Even separated to different rooms.

Make sure you bring all the documents required. Check this forum, there are a lot of list what to bring to the interview.

So I assume your wife is the one that is adjusting the status? You should be fine then. If they ask, just tell them the truth.

If they think both of you have a fraud marriage, they can denied it w/o any reason. But like I said if your marriage is bona fide, there is nothing to worry about.

Make a search over this forum, there are plenty information about personal interview experiences and information about what to bring at your interview.
Your wife didn't apply for EAD?
If they ask about why your wife doesn't have a SSN or why she doesn't work just tell the truth and the reasons and you should be fine. Just be sure to bring at least bunch of pictures or affidavits of friends or people at your work that know her and family and friends. Make a search and you will find a lot of info.
Good luck,
PD. In most of the states you need a SSN.
