Hello! I am new here and I found this forum very useful for anyone who wants to apply/already applied immigration. I have some questions regrading I-485 and specifically about the I-864 affidavit of support.
I filed I130, I131, I765 and I485 all together just last week. I've already received Notice of Action with receipt number. While I was browsing on this forum, I found out the lastest version for the affidavit of support is on 01/15/06. Then I went to USCIS website to confirm that's the truth and they do not accept any older version. But I filed an 11/05/01 version, which is the version that needs to be notarized. I got all my forms from the Texas Service Center. I didn't know they would hand me an outdated version
. Is that going to cause me any troubble? Can I or should I file the newer version now? or should I wait till they ask me to do so?
Another question is about me and husband never had any wedding, we just went to a courthouse to see a judge to get marry, main reasons is we wanted to save as much money as possible to buy a house. So now we don't have any wedding pictures to show the immigration officer, but I have pictures when we travel, on my birthday, etc. Are those going to be enough for pictures?
Last question is about my husband has a federal government college loan that he hasn't finish paying back yet, will the immigration officer find out about it? On his income tax return W-2 form, it's written there that how much money did he pay back the loan in a year. Problem is just my husband income alone, he has enough to be my only sponsor, but minus the loan that he pay back each year, he has about $200 less than 125% of the poverty guideline of 2006
. Should I mention it on the interview? I know someone suggest wait till the immigration officer ask you the question and never volunteer any information. I don't see any spaces about reporting any loan when I fill out all those forms. Should I get a co-sponsor ready just in case? I am just thinking if a loan is going to affect the interview outcome, what about people who has several credit card debts? I am just worrying about that because my husband's load is a federal government type.
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can give me some advices. I also included my timeline on my signature.
