Questions about H1 b spouse use AP to re-enter

Here is the situation, any help will be greatly appreciated:
Our I-140 has been approved and I-485 is pending. I'm the principal applicant and my husband is using his H1b working. Now, we are planing a trip back to our home country and will use AP. My question is:does my husband need a EAD to work for the same employer after return via AP, which I am the primary applicant?Is his H1b status still valid(he doesn't have a H1b stamp as his H1b is approved inside the country, and the expiring date is 2009/10).?

I have had the same situtaion as your husbend. I came back using my AP. Currently I am working for the same employer using my H1B status.
I have been told that if I change my job, then I need to use my EAD. Maybe somebody else can shed light into this.
Check this with a good lawyer too.
