Questions about Asylum, NEED HELP !!

My asylum case is pending. I had my interview last October 2006. So far i already got my Employment authorization card and SSN. When i had my interview, i received a letter which says that the result would be mailed to me within February 2007. And yet, no news about it.
So is it a good sign that I am granted? Are they too busy to give the result? Or my case is somewhere lost? Should i get a lawyer to pursue my case? I dont want to keep waiting for nothing because my wife and kid are still in my home country. I wanted them to be together with me here. They already got visitor visas as they applied together with me. And i also put their names in my asylum application. If they come here, will the US immigrations deny their arrival? Will they see their names in the monitor? And if they succeed entering US, will i have to update my application that my family is in US already? One last thing, will i be able to apply for a travel document, so that i can meet my family in other country beside my home country? Sorry for asking too much questions. But please, i need advices so bad. Thank you so much guys for the inputs.

it is impossible to tell weither it is good sign or not. It is pending like many other several hundred thousand cases.
your case is not lost, just a long pending case.
you could get a lawyer if you wish, but there is nothing he could do.
They will not be denied access, because their visas are good and valid. you are a man of your own, you can applied for any thing that you wish, in this specific case, it doesn't directly affect their benefit at this point.
The satement of your application is final, you will not be given a chance to change anything, unless it is denied and referred to the immigration judge.
Untill your application for asylum is approve you WILL NOT be eligible for Refugee travel document.
Good Luck

its good you put your family names in the application,

if you got approved, they will get approved immediately with you

what i meant was....if they come here before my asylum decision is given, will they be allowed to enter US? or they will be rejected and will not be allowed to enter until my application is granted?

i had my application sent to:
BCIS California Service Center
P.O. Box 10589
Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0589

then they had my fingerprints and interview in phoenix. the person who interviewed me came from LA.

i didnt have lawyer with me when i had my interview. first, i applied by myself and i can speak english so i didnt need an interpreter either. i filed my application 1-2months before i had my interview, i think. and it was after 6months stay and before 1yr stay since my arrival in US.

i entered by tourist visa. my family didnt come with me to the US because at that time my life was in danger. and i never been to US before so i thought once i am settled in US, i would bring them over.
how to send enquiry about my case? who should i contact to?

write and ur name and ur interview date and ur A number. utell them i wanrt to know the status of my case.send the letter to the address u gave.did the asylum office ask why u included ur family in the application since they r not in usa.u was supposed not to include them in application coz they not here.that is a mistake

no he didnt ask why my family is not here. all my friends whom have the same experiences as mine, did the same as what i did. they got their family names in the application eventhough their families were not in US at that time.
