Hi, Guys,

My I140 is still pending and I am considering to apply for PR in Canada.

I have a few questions about the applicaiton documents.

1. English Skill:
Basically I do not want to take the TEST. But I am not sure whether I can get enough credit by submitting the following documents:
a: I am currently working in a big semicoductor company in US (about three years). English is the daily work Language.
b: Before join this company, I was a postdoctoral associate in a top school in US. (4 years.) Of course, English is the working language.
c: I have attended about 10 international conferences in US.
d: I have about 20 papers published in international professional journals. (all in English and I was the first author for more than half of all publications, I also could show that I drafted most of them).
e: I have more than 16 year English Education History. (from middle school to PHD candidate in China).

Could I get 12 out of 16 in English skill accessment??

2. About work experience letter.
What is the notarized employment contracts????

3. I am not sure whether I should hire a lawyer or do it by myself. Any suggestions. Thanks a lot.

1. You should get 16 out of 16 if you document all the above. Please write a letter summarizing your command on English language with the evidence.

2. Before you joined a company, the HR sent you an employment offer letter detailing your position, salary, job responsibilities etc. A notarized copy of this offer letter.

3. The application process is very simply. A person with the above qualifications should be able to easily apply him or herself. Depending on your confidence level, this should be your judgment call.
