Has anybody experienced a situation where the consular officer asked the applicant to submit his / her documents so that the US consulate can complete their enquiries? My parents recently applied for vistor's visa and they were asked by their interviewer to leave their documents - saying that they would need about 6 weeks to complete verification process before they could issue a visa.
My parents subsequently ended up withdrawing their application since they had travel plans within the six week period.

I am also planing to get my parents here, I just wanted to know..did you take an internet appointmet, if so..what's the time frame to get an appointemt. My parents are 61 & 58 yrs old. I hope they have to visit Delhi consulate to get the Visa.
