Hello,
What is the basis for one to get unemployment ( jobs not available) and does that affect Citizenship. Any inputs greatly appreciated.

Any help in this regard greatly appreciated.

If you get laid off, you are eligible to get unemployment benefits (provided you qualify in other respects). It has no impact on green card status or citizenship application.

Check your state unemployment insurance website (eg EDD for California). You'll find all the eligibility criteria (an addition to being laid off) there. And no. it doesn't impact citizenship.

Wondering has anyone in the forum applied for Unemployment. Any help in this regard greatly appreciated.

Once again, this is a state matter. Search google for "Claiming Unemployment benefits <Your State>" .
