Friends,

My H1B 6-yrs are going to expire in May. I recently(Dec 2004) applied 140 and 485 using substitution labour. I received EAD and 140 approval. Do I get H1B EXTENSION i.e., 7th Year or not ?

Yes. You can get 7th year extension.

By the way, you got your 140 approved in just 2 months? WOW!!

Since your labor or 140 is not pending for more than one year you are not going to get any real advantage of 7th year extension..
If you feel that you will be able to complete 6 months with current employer after 485 filing ( i.e. stable job & you can use AC21 then ) OR you wish to continue with the same employer for few years then you can save some good money by not filing 7th year extension..

I don't complete 6 months by the time my H1 expires. I applied on Dec 13th 2004. My H1 expires on May 16th 2005.

You have to complete 6 month from the 485 filing date. It is not related with H1 expiration.
