Hello everybody,

Has there been any changes to the F-1 visa issuing, with regard to showing the bank statements of support, in case there is no aid available?

What is the amount to be shown in the bank statement and how long does it need to be there? Also, are they asking the F-1 visa holders to show proof of return trip back to India, as there is a non-immigrant intent?

Your answers would be helpful.

Thanks

Overall guidelines would be same but applications screened in detail

Generally I-20 lists the total expenses Fees, Boarding, Misc for 1 academic year or duration of courses. Your affidavit of support (bank stmts) should cover this one year available immediately and you can show liquid assets for the remainder.

Another member of this forum had same question/problem. It is very unlikely that any airline would be willing to give confirm tickets for travel of say 2 years from today.
