Hopefully this an easy question for those that've applied for AP before.
In the form (Part 1 - "Your Information") - Question #3
"Class Of Admission"

What do you fill for this ?
Am on H1B .... I think that's what they are asking ?? Not sure....

so what do I answer for "Class Of Admission" ?

Thanks !

Prior Versions Acceptable

Hi,
I looked at the BCIS web site and found this I-131 form has been revised on 04/16/2004. I have submitted the previous version of the I-131 because I have applied for AP in march 2004. The previous version of this form did not have this "Class of Admission" column. I found that the prior versions acceptable. So why don't u use the previous version which is simpler than the current one?

I have the soft copy of the previous version, please let me know if you want it.

Thanks

If depends what your current status is. See your I-94. If your last entry to US is using H1/H4 visa your class of admission if H1/H4. If you used your advance parole document last time, your class of admission is "Advance Parole".

Class of Admission..

This is the annotation which you can find on your most recent I-94.
And as people have said, its your status H1B/H4 etc..

Cheers,

well, I checked the USCIS website. I think this refers to the type of immigration petition, such as employment-based EB1, EB2, EB3 or family-based classes. Am I right?

here it is the answer:

4. Class of Admission Defined by USCIS
We have recently had a number of clients, as well as MurthyDotCom and MurthyBulletin readers, ask us what the USCIS means by the term "Class of Admission" on the new Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. The USCIS has confirmed that they are seeking the applicant's current immigration status. They are not looking for the status at first or most recent entry to the U.S., if different from the current status. For example, if a person entered the U.S. through a Port of Entry and was granted F-1 status, but later changed his or her status to H1B from within the U.S., the correct answer on the form for Class of Admission is H1B.
It is unclear why the USCIS decided to change the phrasing of this question. We appreciate that they have clarified the definition so that we are better able to assist our readers and clients in providing accurate information to the USCIS.
