Friends,

My I-140 got approved on February 20th, 2004 at NSC. I opted for CP while filing for I-140.

Category ---> EB3.
RD & ND ---> October 1, 2003
Approved ---> February 20, 2004

Your valuable suggestions and clarifications are needed for the following questions:

Q1. Based on the approval date when can I expect an interview?

Q2. I have initially done Medicals here in the US thinking of filing for 485. The Medicals was done in the beginning of February. I know that the medicals are valid for a year. Can the same results be used when I go for CP?

Q3. When should I request PCC from the Indian Consulate?. I fall under NY Consulate jurisdiction. Any idea how long it would take to get PCC?

I appreciate all your responses.

Thanks very much.

Q1. Based on the approval date when can I expect an interview?

Five months approx unless you do AC-I140 (three months).

Q2. I have initially done Medicals here in the US thinking of filing for 485. The Medicals was done in the beginning of February. I know that the medicals are valid for a year. Can the same results be used when I go for CP?

No. Need to re-do in India; however you can use I-693 supplement that you might already have as proof of vaccinations.

Q3. When should I request PCC from the Indian Consulate?. I fall under NY Consulate jurisdiction. Any idea how long it would take to get PCC?

Apply in early April or so. It takes 45 to 50 days. You can present your passport later as that will be the date on your PCC issuance.

Your valuable suggestions and clarifications are needed for the following questions:

Q1. Based on the approval date when can I expect an interview?

{Generally it takes 6 to 8 months from the date of I-140
approval to the day of interview. Since it involves several
steps you can control the turn around time at your end
by discussing with your attorney and keeping the paper
work ready }

Q2. I have initially done Medicals here in the US thinking of filing for 485. The Medicals was done in the beginning of February. I know that the medicals are valid for a year. Can the same results be used when I go for CP?

{I do not know if the reports can be carried as it is. But my
feeling is, they would expect you to go to a panel doctor
belonging to the Consulate. However if these reports list
the immunization results then the physician there may
waive them }

Q3. When should I request PCC from the Indian Consulate?. I fall under NY Consulate jurisdiction. Any idea how long it would take to get PCC?

{The PCC by the time it is presented at the Consualte (interview date) should not be more than 6 months old. So apply
for it about 2 1/2 to 3 months ahead of the expected interview
date. It usually takes 40 to 45 days for you to get the PCC. If
your passport is issued by the NY Consulate then you would get
it in about 3 or 4 days. }

I appreciate all your responses.

Thanks very much.
