My wife came to the US on an H4 (I was on H1) in June 2001 and applied for 485 in July. She has since received her AP but not her EAD yet(RFE for photos -since then awaiting the EAD approval).
Her H4 expires on Dec 1st 2001.
I received my 485 approval towards the end of September.
Now my question is - what does she need as proof of legal status, Should she always have the 485 receipt notice with her or is having a valid AP enough to state that she is legal in the US.
Please note this is not a question about what she needs to travel out of the country. Just what she needs to stay here while awaiting EAD/485 approval, etc.
