Question regarding paystubs for the i485

For those of you who know-hypothetically speaking, say the USCIS sends you an RFE asking for paystubs for the past 6 months but you work for a small business who pays you in personal business checks biweekly AND you're stupid enough to have forgotten to make copies of those checks before depositing them-how are you to show proof that you did get paid? Thanks

Request records from the bank where you deposited the checks.
