regarding employement i worked from 2004 onwards but did nothing from 2000 to the end of 2003 with regards to working. i studied at home...do i include that info my application or in an addendum or just put in the info for the time i worked and leave the rest blank.
i know it is an irritating question but i would appreciate ot if you guys could help.

I don't think you are required to include any explanation with your N-400 as to why you did not work for some period of time. Just fill out the information about your employment.

Similar scenario

Hi
I was in a similar scenario. I was unemployed during the period Jan 2002 - Nov 2002. I survived on unemployment benefits, past savings etc. How will I fillin the form. Do I need to explicitly mention employment as None for this period or just not mention it at all. I did private learning of the computer technologies in this period not at any school and look for jobs which was hard to get in that period.
Does getting unemp. benefits affect my case.

just fill the form with your previous work, and previous school. if you did not work in some past time, you just do not have to put it down.

not too sure about getting unemp benefits affect to your case. you paid tax, didn't you? if so, it is your benefit to claim unemp benefit. of course, the interview officer might have different point of view.

Employment has nothing to do with Naturalization. As long as you did not switch jobs immediately after your GC, dont bother about it. you can be on welfare & still become a citizen!

Does USCIS run any background checks on employment history if one did not put employment dates correctly?
