question regarding finger prints for EAD ???

whole story in short so far.
Interviewed in OcT 2004..Havnt recd approval so far.First it was Back ground check then it was emplyment check.
My last finger prints done in sept 2004 ..spouse in oct after interview.
applied new( 4th) EAD December 2005.was only asked for Biometerics.
EAd was approved.
Aplied for renewal of EAD again November 2006 for . recd Biometrics notices and done Biometrics last week.
Now I receive a letter from Local office that they need my finger prints.
Is this for EAD or could this mean ther is some movemnet on my case.
My wife says it is just routine , I feel like something is happening to our cases.
Do they need Finger prints for EAD .
Has anybody got renewals with Finger prints expired.???
Any inputs welcome

I can answer some of your questions:

1. They do not do FP for EAD. You must be getting it since your FP has expired. EAD has nothing to do with it.

2. A lot of people have been getting FP renewals once it has expired.

Did you do code 3 or code 1 previously?

My Fps have been expired since end of 2005.
So why now.
Also I have finger prints done in october 2004 were just finger prints.
I am sorry I am not aware of Code 1 or code 3 terminolgy. Could you please xplain.
Also for my EAD renwal I went for my picture and index finger print only.
Is that code 1

Hi Al_aos ,

i think everything it's Ok in your case !!! HaraKad , it's wrong when it states that they do not do FP on EAD !!! You did your part , for EAD , so now probably , they need your FP for GC processing , hopefully !!!
About the Code 1, 2 or 3 , ( you'll find those Codes on your notices what you receive from them ) that mean ussually :

Code 1 : all 10 fingerprints taken ( normal after you apply for I485 - at this stage they should start the name check and security checks also !!!);

Code 2 : 1 fingerprint taken ( and photo - when necessary ) , when you apply for EAD ;

Code 3 : all 10 fingerprints ( and also photo taken ) when they process your aproval for GC ;


Hopefully this will help you to understand , maibe it is not very accurate , but maibe somebody else can correct me on this !!!
