Question Regarding Family Based i-485

This is my current status. I applied through my mother who is a Permanent Resident back in 2000 as an unmarried child under 21.
My question is if there is an interview for this type of case or the case is decided after proof that we are relative? The word written decision seems a little unexplained.

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On May 9, 2005, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

The message means that they have received your RFE and the processing on your case has continued. Written document here means that you will get a notice in mail with their decision which could be an interview letter or another RFE or an approval/denial notice.

Thanks Ari4u,
I called them this morning, it has been more than the 120-180 days they estimated it would take. I was told that the estimated time is a national estimate and my local office is still processing cases from 2002 and they they did not get to my case yet. If i received a RFE, doesn't that mean that they already did some kind of processing?

How do i find out where my case is being processed? I originally sent my i-130 to Vermont, now my i-485 and i-765 (approved) has the MSC case number.

She told me that all i can do is wait. I read around here in the forum that the estimated days were pretty accurate or at least an scientific based estimate.

BTW: I am in New York.

Your case may be stuck in FBI's National Name Check like most of us.
