Question regarding EAD

Hi folks,
My 6 year period would be ending by Feb 2001. I was told that I need not apply for EAD if I plan to continue with the same company(My I485 is pending). Any inputs to my question would be greatly appreciated.

Filing 485, does not approve you to work ... You have to have some work authorization, either H1 or EAD

You will have to file for an EAD prior to your 6 yr. H1 expiration to ensure that you will be able to continue working. Filing of I485 will ensure that you are legally in status and has nothing to with you working.

You should probably file it at least 60-90 days in advance of ur H1 expiration date.
