Question re RTD Additional Evidence & Payment

Hi, two questions really:

1) my RTD expires in Oct this yeaer, and I sent an applicaiton with a copy of the old one only (not the original). Did anyone get away with this? I did not really mean to "get away" with anything, but people on this forum say that I should have sent in the original. Any contrary opinions?


2) If I end up having to send more documents (original RTD), will they cash my check before receiving it?

BTW, I did not get approved today, shocking.

My RTD expires on Sep 16, 2005 but I had to travel in October and also in June so what I did was I sent an application for a new rtd on APRIL 21, 2005 and keeping my old RTD. They sent me a receipt...I travelled to germany in July and came back.

Now i am waiting for my new RTD. I did write a letter on top of my application stating that I can return the RTD if requested but since its taking them 5 months to issue one I need to travel with the old one...

Lets see what happens. Last year I kept the old one but when my application got approved for a new RTD, the old one had expired...

you donnt have to send original unless it's asked for..!
usally they will ask for it,if it still has six month or so left for expiration.that's what immigration officer told me,when i had same issue.!
