Question on working on EAD

I recently recvd my EAD card. The question I have is with an EAD card, now I can continue to work for my present employer without any H1 restrictions. But at the same time, I can work part-time in another place as well.
Is there any restriction on the type of part-time job ? Meaning lets say my GC was filed for the position of a s/q engg., then can I take up a prt-time job as a French teacher now that I have the EAD ?

The moment you use your EAD, u lose your non-immigrant status. So you cannot use H1 & EAD.

thats correct. Pls. remember that EAd is v. helpful for your dependent though

if he/she wants to work. However for you, its preferable to have the H1. (if your company does not mind filing for extension).
If in case there comes a situation where there is a problem in your GC approval, at least you can have your H1 to stay. otherwise I have heard that you may be out of status. Pls. verify thiswith your lawyer. good luck

Also, note that once you move to EAD from H1, u can\'t get married and bring ur spouse on dependent visa.
