Question on Wife's Affidavit

Hi Folks,

I have a question on my wife's affidavit. My wife has a passport before the marriage with her last name. I got married and changed her last name in passport with my last name.

Inorder to apply for GC she doesn't have date of birth certificate. Now inorder to get the non availability certificate and affidavits which last name I have to use.

What is the last name it has to be in Non availability certificate and affidavits.

And one more question is how many affidavits do I need and with whom !!!

Even though your wifes last name has been changed on the passport etc, she still carries something called "maiden name". So it does not matter.., if you think you have a doubt.., the persons who are giving the affidavit, could mention that after marriage her last name is changed to .....
 
well you cound not get certificate of non-availablity aor BC in ur wife's current name, it has to be in the name she was born with.

ur problem is not unique, 99% of women change name after marriage even in USA.

thats why there are fields like maiden name other name used etc on biographic info forms.

You also have Marriage Certificate, and I think on that too it should have said firstname maiden name marrying u etc.

that's all u need.

dont dream up problems, for situations that are common like this one there are solutions in place, use some common sens... will help to keep ur head cool and tension free.
