Question on time for finiding a new job

If one loses current job on one bad day, should the person find a job that very day?

What would be the status of that person during the time he/she is out of job?

Is that time period specified legally anywhere and if yes, what is it?

Do the answers for the above questions depend if one is on EAD or H1B?
 
you should find a job when your I140/485 are approved. or when you have to reply RFE. It's not a big problem you have a break of 3 days or 30 days or 100 days. you just need to show you have an (future) employment when/on your ajudication of 140/485.
