Hi,
My wife is in the process of getting a green card through me (a US citizen). We recently filed the
I-485 form for her.
We\'re planning to visit India during January 2002. I understand we need to file an advanced
parole I-131 application for her before leaving the country. However, I\'m confused whether
there needs to be a extraordinary circumstance such as a family emergency for her to
get this parole. One INS officer [at SanFrancisco] told us that we need such a justification,
however a second INS officer from the same office later told us that there is no such need
and that advance parole can be obtained on a regular basis for casual trips.
Could someone please clarify?
thanks in advance
