Question on RFE receipt notice

My lawyer has received the RFE. My status is still unchanged ("...received on...990-999 days"). Question is how can I know
when TSC receives RFE. will they send any acknowledgement or notice by mail? or will online status change?

The best way to do is :-

Make sure your lawyer sends the response using Fed-ex or similar mechanism and get the tracking number from him.

There is no other way to ensure unless INS updates the status but status update is not regular - as you saw in your case.
