Hi,
A quick question...
I got my GC Feb12th 2002 & based on the info I have I could start my naturalization process 4&1/2 post GC date, which means I could apply around late august 06 or sept 06. So the first thing I want to confirm is if my understanding is correct on this?
Secondly, I left USA for India on dec 12th, 2005 (I quit my job in USA). I also applied for a re-enrty permit which is valid till nov 2007. So now my question is what is the real requirement for residency for applying for citizenship these days. Because if my not visiting USA before june 12th (6months period) will I lose the residency status required for citizenship?
How hard it is to prove that I do still belong to USA although I am not currenlty working for any company there & out fo the country ofr 8 months?
Do you think it is wiser to go before jun12th (6months period) even though I have a re-entry permit valid till 07 & then make another visit in sept 06 to apply for citisenship? I am trying to see if I can avoid doing that!
Thanking you all in advance for the replies
