Question on Receipt Number

Hi all,

I applied for changing my status through the DORA since I live in DFW area. I've just received my Notice of Action for I-130 & I-485 from USCIS today. It's called I-797C if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, the receipt number starts with something like MSC-**-****. I can't check my case status online with that receipt number. Is there something wrong or just totally normal with my receipt number? I also see that the website only accepts receipt # starts with SRC or some....

If any of you all has ever experienced this, please let me know! Many thanks!
 
Leon relax your receipt number is valid, it takes soem time for the Online Update to get your Receipt number in the system, dont trouble your self with Online Status check so often, it takes time, you should soon Within about 25-30 days receive an NOA ( Notice of Action I-797) for your ASC Biometrics Finger print Appt. that will be the next step in your process.

the first 3 letters designate where your application was pre-processed after you sent it to Chicago Lockbox.

MSC = Missouri Service Center all your applications will be initially processed there then get sent to your DO or District Office city close to your address of record.
