Hi All,

I went to Sears to get the immigration pictures and I got three sets of pictures for EAD,AP and 485.In each set one picture looks OK and the other one looks a little lighter. She used Polaroid camera. Is it quite normal?
Do I need to redo it again? Otherthan that everything looks OK.

What will be the usual validity time period for EAD and AP.I have valid H1
and Visa till June 2003.Is it better to apply now?If it is given for one year can it be extended?or Can I apply in April or May of 2003?

Thanks
Naveen

EAD/AP:-
Each is valid for an year.
Each is renewable after that period by an year every year.
If U have a valid H1 and feel comfortable that U wudn\'t risk losing
it, then U don\'t have to apply EAD/AP. U can use H1 to continue
working and H1 to enter US. If U plan to change employer, then U may need EAD and in which case after the day U start using EAD, u need AP to enter US.
Hope this is clear.
Reg Pics, I am not too sure on that.

Can I apply them at any time

Thanks for Your reply.
If I do not apply for EAD and AP can I apply at other time in
March or April 2003 as my H1 is valid till June 2003.

Do you think applying for EAD and AP will cause delay in my case?

Thanks
Naveen

photos

I had an RFE for the photos saying there were shadows around the face.

I think they are a little picky about it.

I suggest you go to Kinkos and ask for \'immigration snaps\'.

They know what to do.

If you think you can take a chance now and save $15, go with the sears one. If you want to save time and if ur lawyer charges by the hour, I would advise you to get it done again.

Hope that helps

urgent pl help

I am about to file 485...I live in remote central Pennsylvania, can anyone guide me re places in PA/DC/NY/NJ for photos....i tried a local kinkos and sears but they have no clues re immigration photos/snaps
thanks

You can take the immigration style photo

from any COSTCO stores. Just tell them that you want the photographs for immigration, they know what to do. I took all my photographs from COSTCO ( 2 for $5 ). Also never got RFE and recently got approved.

Go to Studio 2

In Central Pennsylvania the best place for immigration photos is in State College. I got mine done in Chuck Fong\'s Studio 2 at 204 West College Ave., State College, PA 16801. The phone number is 814-234-2000. They do all the immigration photos for foreign born Penn State Faculty members and students. He is a professional and knows his job. I recommend him very highly.

AAA photos are aweful

AAA charges $7 for a pair of photos from their members. However, they do not have the proper lighting and they are not professional photographers. They hold the camera in their hands, instead of a tripod, and try to get your photo. The result is very bad. However, I am informing you of my experience in the area I live in. In other areas the experience may be different.

I did it in Sears and got an RFE for EAD only thus far, for my spouse saying that the right ear is not clearly visible. I was able to get a full refund for all photos.

Thanks MGM

Thanks for info on studio 2, i called them but they are closed for extanded memorial weekend, will get it done on tuesday

Make sure your face looks turned towards left. Size is also important.

Immigration pictures are different than usual passport type. No glasses, jewelry, ear rings.
Polaroids are fine. Look in some websites for instructions.

Size is important?

I just got my photos taken and the guy in charge said he knows what
he\'s doing (before I had a chance to show him the size). The only problem with the photo is it is slightly shorter in length (2mm). Would this cause a problem? Everything else is accurate, just the length. Shoudl I retake?

Not easy for the naked eye to guage 2 mm difference, dont worry

A small discrepancy would be within the tolerance range, however for peace of mind will not harm to take along extra copies.

Thanks! I checked and the photographer went by the old standards of 1.5 by 1.5 inches. Do you know when the INS changed the requirements? I\'ll retake coz it\'s not worth the worry =)
