Hi

I have received my Canadian PR in 2003, I got my actual card issued in Oct-2003.After that I went to canada last week just for visit, my question is

1) How long can I stay away from Canada, as my card says valid till Nov-2008
2) If I have to stay for min 2 years, does that mean I have to move to Canada by Nov -2006 ? or Can I move anytime till Nov -2008 ?

Also I got divorced after getting my PR card, my ex took her card & is in Canada now,I plan to marry some time this year, whats the process for getting Card for my spouse again ?

Experts please reply

Thanks

Thanks for your reply, what about my wife question ? also say if I go after Nov-2006 , is it possible to retain the card by talking to some immigration lawyer there.

Thanks

Nope, its a question of "use it or lose it", the Act is quite specific on maintaining PR status.

Once you loose, what are the chances of your application getting approved again if you re-apply. I am assuming there would be an interview etc. where the officer would want to know the reasons of not moving to Canada..

Has anybody ever re-applied??
