Question on H1 vs EAD and loosing job and cosequences

Currently I am in a job using my H1 visa ( H1 Expires February 2004, 7th year extension application is with INS). My employer has sponsored my Green Card ( I485 RD October 2002, I140 Approved April 2003, 2nd EAD valid up to January 2005), which is yet to be approved. I am foreseeing possibility of loosing my current job. I understand I can use my EAD to get another job.

Questions:

1) In above scenario, remaining in H1 and loosing job is that any issue?

2) If I change from H1 to EAD what is the advantage or any disadvantage?

3) If I loose job in EAD and remain without job in between another job, is that any
issue?

4) What is the procedure of changing from H1 to EAD in my current job?

1) remaining on H1 and losing job: you need to get a new job by 60days or so, otherwise u'd be out of status..so i think this would be an issue...and then even if u get one, u'd have to do a h1transfer..

2) if u change to ead, u dont need to ask ur employer to take care of the h1b transfer..so they might hire u easily..

3) i dont t hink thats an issue..i have friends who did that for more than a year...

4) i donno of any procedure..just give them a copy of ur EAD and they should know what to do..
