Dear Fellow Citizenship Applicants,

I live outside Boston and submitted my N-400 yesterday (May 17th) to the Vermont Service Center.

I am planning to relocate to the southeastern US in September or October of this year, most likely Virginia, North Carolina or Georgia.

My application will also be transferred from the Boston DO to another DO.

Will this move add months (or years) to my application processing?

1. not sure if you still have to live in the new region for 3 months to qualify for the n400 application requirement
2. it will have affect to your processing time because different DOs' processing time differently. however, for long many months or years will be added or taken out on your apps processing, it is an unknown.

I think what is required when you move (either within the same DO or a different DO/SC) is:

1. File for AR-11 (address change form) with USCIS within 10 days of the move.
2. Call the 1-800# (Guess it is the general INS inquiry #) ASAP after the move and inform them about the address change.
3. Change your Driver's licence to the new address to reflect in the ID.
4. Keep copies of the lease, utility bills, etc. as proof of residence.
5. Pray that this does not involve additional layer of bureaucracy does not affect your N-400 application process and wait for the interview/oath.

Rahul, and others please clarify if these or in order or is there anything else I am missing. I dont think there is any additional 90 day wait because your application is already being processed.
