Question on EAD - thank you

Dear folks,

I am trying to renew EAD for my wife. She has H-1B1.

On the EAD form, question 15 (Current immigration status) should I fill in with "temporary worker H1-B1" or "Adjustment of status applicant derivative"? I don't know if one can actually put "H1-B1" , and I don't want the INS to think that she is switching from H1-B1 to EAD.

She has never used her previous EAD (it was filled by lawyer-that's why I don't know the answer)?

Since your wife received her EAD as a dependant applicant on your AOS application - it would make sense to continue her status as a dependant application for the renewal EAD also...

I have similar question.

I am working on H1 .am primary applicant for I-485. EAD expiring and need to renew it though i am not working on it.

What should i write as current status.

Also, in Dates column for question 11 for previous EAD, should it be expiry date of previous EAD.

I think you could fill in just "Adjustment Applicant" as your current status, because that is what makes you eligible for EAD. Simply having H1-B will not qualify you for EAD, but having a pending AOS application will.

About the date of previous EADs, use the approval date, not the expiring date. In my case, I had more than one EADs before, two for my OPTs while I was in school, and one for my current job. I just filled in all the three (starting) dates, and then "granted".

EAD Renewal Details

I have applied for EAD Renewal by myself and hope i have my details correctly as i did not get any RFE.

my wife has used her EAD, so we put her as EAD status instead of H-4, hope you do the same.

Since i am on H-1 , i did put my current status as H-1 as i never used my EAD.
