question on docs for GC interview

For those who had the interview or will have it.

Today my wife received a notice for GC interview.
It states that it requires my birth certificate, naturalization certificate, her birth certificate, and a whole bunch of other supporting docs.

When initally sending the application we've included the birth certificate for my wife (notarized copy with translation and only copy). To top that my birth certificate is from another country and currently there's nobody there that can get me a translated copy or even a new copy with the native language.

My questions is:
Do I have to go through all the hassle and somehow try to get those docs?
Are they asking for these docs because they assume some people missed it during their application?
I have my original naturalization and marriage certificate. Wouldn't that be enough for myself.

any suggestions would be appreciated

regards

You should not mail in your originals

You should make one set of copies of those evidences, keep the originals and mail the copies to USCIS 'coz for some reasons if they lost your documents and you don't have any copies to show the officer during the interview (for Birth Certificate you need to show original), then you're stuck.

When I attended the interview, I brought whatever I had mailed in + additional evidences that I did not have when I filed the application.

I agree, never give USICS the originals! During my interiew they asked for original copies of BC , passport, etc. I brought copies of everthing I already sent plus made an additional package for USICS to keep at the interview.

thanks
i guess i never thought they would ask me for my birth certificate since I'm a naturalized citizen. My first thought that citizenship papers were the only proof they would need, since I had already gone through this process a long time ago.
For my wife's we can always somehow ask her relatives to send out her birth certificate with a translation.
