Question on Appointment for Stamping!!!

I appreciate all those who did succesfully go through the stamping process.

How do I get an appointment for stamping? What phone number to call? Do we have an option to choose the time and date?

I got my approval notice and tried to fix up an appointment at National Service Center, but the lady says no appointment is required, per the letter asked me to go there on friday in the specified time at Javits Federal Plaza in NYC. I don't want to wait in line for hours.

Each of the INS operates on a particular day with appointment notices. In Newark it is wednseday. Most of my friends who got the approval notice went on a wednesday with the approval letter. They did not take any appointment and the line on wednesday is not as big as on normal days. May be for NYC office it is Friday. Hope this helps

May be you are right. The lady in the lawyer's office said in NYC you can go any friday. Thanks for your input.

But, one of the members in this forum did his stamping in NYC on a thursday with an appointment and he said there were many people waiting in the line who did not have an appointment.
