Question on AFTER I-140

I am right now working with a non-profit organization on H1B and I will be getting my I-140 using NIW soon. The questions are as follows.

Will there be any problem if I quit this organization and work for a profit-making company soon after I get the I-140 approved? Do I have to apply for a new I-140 again?

If I want to apply for I-485 based on the I-140 I have using NIW, do I have to maintain the same job description even in the new company? Because the present job is all about air quality controls and environmental health, but the future job will be SAP and Customer relationship management.

Any sort of advice would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

from what i know....you have to maintain similar job description till you get your GC...which makes sense right?, because you mentioned in application that you are good because of your current work.....

you can work for a profit org, after you get your EAD since you are not employer sponsored.....but job desc should be same...

If you are filing I-140 under EB-1 (extra ordinary ability; NIW) which is self petitioned and dont require employer at all, you can change job any time. For other categories EB-2 or EB-3 you need to hang out with same employer for some time and your job description should be same in case you change employer to use the same approved I-140.

Thank you all for the prompt replies. I had this question just because I have the opportunity to get an I-140 using NIW using the present job description, but I donot want to wait for at least 5 years till the visa number for I-485 is current and change my job with a different job description after I-485 is approved. I mean I really donot see good future with this present job description (no good salary even if you slog for 5 to 6 years in this field while waiting for the visa number to be current and approval of I-485).

Anyways, thank you for all the feedback.
