My spouse is on H-4. No SSN / EAD. Currently I-485 is under processing as a dependent applicant. Since no EAD, no A# also. Has anyone applied AP for a dependent without lawyer? What are the documents to be attached with I-131? Since no SSN / A#(which are the only two fields I can relate to.. that can be linked with the I-485 file), what additional documents are required?

You help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My lawyer told me the A# is the APPLICANT number in your I-485 receipt. Your spouse should have this A# if his/her I-485 is under processing.

I applied AP in last month but has not been approved yet.

I attached the following documents with the AP application:

1) written application for AP
2) filled I-131 form
3) copy of I94 card (front and back)
4) $110 check for I-131 fee
5) Copy of I-485 receipt;
6) My approval notice of I-140
7) 2 photos

Thanks for the info. NYC_NY

Yes, I do have A# in the receipt notice of I-485. Few quick questions...

1) Written application? Is it like a covering letter... stating that Advanced parole application request???

2) Is personal check accepted at INS-VSC???

3) Can I use the same photos taken for filing the I-485(which was applied in march '03)??

Thanks in advance for your help.

personal checks are acceptable.

you mean march 02 I think? I think there is a 6-month/recent photo requirement for INS. check it out in application form.

For question 1): Yes. Write a cover letter stating why you apply AP, such as "we seek to travel abroad during this coming Thanksgiving holidays for emergent personal reasons. We hope we can return America after temporary foreign travel with the advance parole document."

For question 2) and 3), sonunigam0203 has answered. It is better to send photos taken within 30 days. Print your name and A# on the back of each photo.
