Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and looking for some help.

Details: My 5 year GC period ends by 5/4/2009 and planning to apply for citizenship.

1. I visited India from 2/1/2009 through 2/17/2009. (15 days absence from US). Can I apply for the citizenship now or Do I have to wait for 3 months to complete to mee the continuous stay in the state for 3 months. I am living in Virginia since 1999 and filed taxes for the past 10 years for VA state. I meet all the other requirements such as no trips more than 180 days etc.

2. My wife has planned to visit India on Jun 13th and returning on Sep 5th. Is that a good idea to apply now and postpone the further proceedings (finger print/interivew, Oath) that comes during Jun 13th- sep 5th to a later date? Is that possible to postpone like 3 months? If she apply after she comes back, does she has to wait for another three months to meet the 3 months continuous stay at VA critera?

Thank you so much for all your input in advance. :o

A vacation does not effect your residence as long as you maintain your ties, mortgage, rent, job etc.

I am a newbie here so I will defer to the experts here. But I think yours is just a vacation of two weeks , so the DO is not affected.

I moved on 12/01. I have been in so cal for a couple of years now, so didn 't realize when I moved, I fell under another DO. Until now H-1, 485 , the company filed, so I never paid attention. I just filed N400 two days ago and gave it an extra two days , so I won't fall afoul of the three months rule. i think your case is different.
