I have a question in regard to traveling while I485 is being filed. My background I have H1B and my spouse on H4. Both on our passports we have expired visa stamp but we both have a valid I797 till end of 2008. I was told that if I were to file our I485; I cannot travel to my country because of the expired visa stamp on my passport and that we will have to wait until we have our AP is available to us. I was planning to go to my country and get the visa stamped there on my return. Is this the case or I am being misled? Please clarify.
