Question in N-600 App.

My N-400 got approved recently and taking oath soon and Planning to apply n-600 for my son(Before application fee rise), who born in India.

In N-600 application, under H section.
Dates of Residence and/or physical presence in the united states(Complete this only if you are applicant claiming U.S.Citizenship at time of birth abroad).

Is this for chidrens born out side of USA for USA citizens or for every one?

Your suggestions are greatly appriciated...

Recied by INS -> 3/13.
Checks Cashed -> 3/18
Received Notice -> 3/29 (R Date:3/15, P Date:3/15, Notice Date:3/23)
Received FP Notice -> 3/30 (Scheduled on 9/4 and done on the same date)

Received IL->4/22(Scheduled on 5/22 and asked us come back on 5/25 because not completed 5yrs as perminant resident. I was perminant residence since 5/24/2002 . So went back on 5/25 and complete interview)

Received Oath Letter->6/26 (Scheduled on 7/20)
 
I think it is only for chidren born outside of USA of USA parents, not for everyone.

My 2 cents.
 
If a US Citizen has a child outside of the US, the child may or may not be a citizen depending on a lot of things - one of which is the physical presence of the US Citizen parent up to the time of the birth. I believe that that is what this refers to.

The instructions seemed pretty clear to me. My child became a US Citizen when my wife took the oath of naturalization. When we filled in the N-600, we were *not* claiming that our child was a citizen at birth (rather that she became a citizen some time after her 17th birthday). We left that section blank.
