question: I-485 retrogression and PERM on monday

Well, as we all know, PERM will go into the effect on this monday. This situation can potentially create a huge volume of approved labor certs (and I-140/485 applications) within next 2-3 months.

So, question is: can that possible cause further retrogression of I-485 priority date back to 2001,2000..... and earlier, or will it just remain April 2002 as it is now? How does that work?

May be someone can englighten us on this issue?

PERM cannot force the priority back to 2001 or 2000.....PD for perm will be March 28th, 2005 onwards. Perm EB3s cannot apply until it becomes current (may be 2 years from now).

If there is a mass approval of labor from BECs (backlog elimination centers...) which have PDs in 2001 then there is a possibility of PD getting stagnant at April 2002. It is all waiting game...nobody knows how the BECs impact....
